Syzygium aromaticum · Whole Dried Flower Buds · Aromatic Botanical Pantry
Richly fragrant, warming and wonderfully distinctive, Whole Cloves bring depth to culinary spice blends and traditional home-fragrance rituals.
Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) are the dried, unopened flower buds of an evergreen tropical tree. Their familiar nail-like shape and intense sweet-spicy aroma make them easy to recognise in the botanical pantry.
Our Whole Cloves are supplied as intact dried buds, retaining their aromatic character until gently crushed or simmered.
At Flowers from my Meadow, we keep it pure and uncomplicated: whole dried Cloves, carefully packed for cooking, botanical drinks and fragrant kitchen rituals.
How to Use
For cooking: Add a few whole cloves to rice, stewed fruit, marinades, baked desserts, syrups or spiced beverages. Their flavour is intense, so use sparingly and remove the buds before serving.
For aromatic simmer pots: Combine a few cloves with Cinnamon Bark and dried citrus peel in gently simmering water to fragrance your kitchen.
Precautions
Use in normal culinary amounts rather than concentrated medicinal doses. Do not ingest Clove essential oil; concentrated eugenol can be harmful. If pregnant, breastfeeding, taking blood-thinning medicine or managing a medical condition, ask a healthcare professional before concentrated herbal use.
