How to Prepare Safely
Because Berry Blossom Tea contains dried Elderberries, do not prepare it by simply steeping the dried blend or as an uncooked cold brew. For one generous cup: (1) Add 1–2 teaspoons of the loose blend to a saucepan with approximately 300ml water. (2) Bring to a full boil and boil for at least 10 minutes. (3) Reduce the heat and simmer gently for another 10 minutes, topping up with water if necessary. (4) Strain thoroughly, discarding the berries and other botanical solids. (5) Sweeten to taste and serve warm, or cool the fully cooked and strained tea before serving over ice. Use only properly identified, ripe elderberries with stems and leaves removed; cooking does not make unsuitable plant material safe.
Flavour & Aroma
Rich dark berries, floral Hibiscus, softly sweet Blueberry and a smooth Rooibos finish.
Precautions
Elderberry safety: Do not eat the dry berries directly or consume raw or undercooked elderberries. Raw or inadequately cooked berries can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Keep away from children. If pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medication or managing a medical condition, consult an appropriate healthcare professional before regular botanical use; avoid if allergic to an ingredient.
