Original archived ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 120 g soft goat's cheese
  • 1 tbsp dried culinary Elderflowers (Sambucus nigra)
  • 2 tsp honey
  • ½ tsp finely grated lemon zest
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten, for brushing

Source-faithful preparation

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Cut the puff pastry into small squares and lightly score a border around each square, without cutting all the way through.
  3. Arrange the pastry on a lined baking tray and brush the edges with beaten egg.
  4. Combine the soft goat's cheese with the lemon zest and half of the Elderflowers.
  5. Spoon a little of the goat's cheese mixture into the centre of each pastry square.
  6. Bake for approximately 15–18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden.
  7. Finish with a light drizzle of honey, the remaining Elderflowers and a little freshly ground black pepper. Serve fresh.

Food safety & botanical notes

  • Allergens: Contains wheat/gluten (typical puff pastry), milk/dairy (goat's cheese) and egg (pastry wash). Puff pastry may contain additional allergens; check ingredient labels and cross-contact.
  • Culinary botanical: Use only food-grade, correctly identified dried flowers of Sambucus nigra, not unidentified flowers or other parts of the elder plant such as leaves, stems or unripe berries.
  • Soft cheese: If pregnant, use appropriately pasteurised goat's cheese and follow individual food-safety advice. Keep cheese chilled until preparation and serve the cooked tartlets promptly.
  • Honey: Do not serve honey-containing foods to children under 12 months.
  • Egg and pastry: Brush only the pastry edges with beaten egg, bake thoroughly, and do not taste raw pastry or egg.
  • Timing and yield: The original source specifies 200°C and approximately 15–18 minutes but gives no independently validated serving yield, storage life or kitchen-test result. Do not invent them.
  • Photography: The picture identifies our genuine Elderflowers 20 g pouch and does not depict the finished tartlets.
