Ingredients

  • 2 firm pears
  • 2 cups prepared Snow Chrysanthemum infusion
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 1 strip lemon peel

How to prepare

  1. Prepare and strain a culinary Snow Chrysanthemum (Coreopsis tinctoria) flower infusion according to the product instructions. Measure 2 cups.
  2. Peel the 2 firm pears and place them in a saucepan with the prepared infusion, honey, cinnamon stick and lemon peel.
  3. Simmer gently until the pears are tender, turning occasionally so that they cook evenly. The original archived recipe does not specify an exact simmering time.
  4. Remove the pears carefully and reduce the remaining poaching liquid slightly to create a delicate syrup.
  5. Serve the warm pears with a drizzle of the infused syrup.

Kitchen notes

Use the correct food-suitable Snow Chrysanthemum botanical, Coreopsis tinctoria (Asteraceae), not Chrysanthemum morifolium. The archived recipe specifies a prepared infusion, not a particular flower-to-water steeping ratio; follow the product's actual preparation directions. Honey must not be fed to infants under 12 months. The original source supplies no tested poaching time, yield beyond two pears or storage duration. Refrigerate leftovers promptly. No medicinal claims are made.
