Meet the botanical ingredient
Dried Hibiscus Flowers
Hibiscus rosa-sinensis · Culinary dried flower petals from Flowers from my Meadow.
These are Hibiscus rosa-sinensis petals rather than Roselle (Hibiscus sabdariffa) calyces. Colour and taste may differ from traditional roselle-based hibiscus jam. Use only flowers sold for culinary use.

Source & safe storage notes
- Original source: The original Hibiscus Flowers Shopify recipe archive provides the exact measurements, a 10-minute covered Hibiscus infusion, a raspberry-and-sugar simmer until jam-like thickness, and refrigerated storage. A tested final yield, precise jam simmering time and shelf-life were not recorded; none are invented here.
- Refrigerator jam, not a shelf-stable preserve: This recipe does not establish a safe pH, canning process or preservation shelf life. Store in a clean covered jar in the refrigerator, avoid room-temperature pantry storage, and discard promptly if spoiled. It has not been validated for water-bath canning or ambient retail sale.
- Botanical identity: Use correctly identified culinary Hibiscus rosa-sinensis dried petals, not sprayed ornamental flowers. The rose-red colour associated with Roselle cannot be guaranteed with these petals.
- Food handling: Wash raspberries as appropriate, use clean utensils and jars, and refrigerate promptly after cooking and cooling. If storing, use an independently verified safe recipe and process for long-term preservation.
- Individual guidance: Avoid if allergic to Hibiscus or raspberries. Check botanical suitability during pregnancy, breastfeeding, medication use or relevant health conditions.
- Photography: Uses the real branded Hibiscus Flowers pouch; no invented picture of finished jam.
