- Finish with a little freshly ground black pepper and serve immediately.
Food safety & botanical notes
- Allergens: Contains milk (goat's cheese) and wheat/gluten (standard baguette). Check labels for ingredients or allergen cross-contact; substitutions may change the allergy profile.
- Honey: Honey-containing food should never be served to babies under 12 months. Honey is included in the original recipe.
- Apple Flowers: Use only culinary food-grade dried Malus domestica Apple Flowers, not florist, ornamental or pesticide-treated blossoms. Avoid if allergic or sensitive to apples, apple flowers or related Rosaceae plants.
- Fresh dairy: Keep goat's cheese refrigerated until needed, handle with clean utensils and serve the assembled crostini promptly. No validated storage life is given for the finished cheese-topped bread.
- Toasting: The original archived method specifies toast until crisp and lightly golden but does not specify an exact oven temperature or baking time; watch closely and avoid burning the bread.
- Pregnancy and other suitability: If pregnant, choose pasteurised goat's cheese, not unpasteurised soft cheese. If pregnant, breastfeeding, taking medicines or managing a condition, consult a qualified clinician about habitual botanical use and individual food restrictions.
- Editorial accuracy: The eight slices are the original baguette quantity, not an independently tested finished-serving yield. No recipe shelf life, actual kitchen test or finished-dish photograph is claimed.
