The Story Behind Our Wild Yam Cream
Some products begin with a business plan. Ours began around a family conversation, with someone we love looking for understanding and comfort during a difficult season of change.
Our mother-in-law was navigating menopausal symptoms, and seeing her experience encouraged us to learn more about traditional botanical preparations. That curiosity became the beginning of our Wild Yam Cream—and, over time, part of the story of Flowers from my Meadow.
A family beginning
My husband, Mike, and I started exploring the long history of Wild Yam Root (Dioscorea villosa) and Chaste Tree Berries (Vitex agnus-castus). We were drawn to the beauty of traditional plant knowledge, and to making something that felt carefully considered rather than complicated.
The cream gradually took shape as a handcrafted botanical skincare formulation. It was never a synthetic hormone preparation and it contains no progesterone.
Made together, in small batches
Flowers from my Meadow is a family business. From researching ingredients to preparing batches, packaging orders and listening to customers, much of our work happens alongside ordinary family life. Homeschooling our children has added its own rhythm to that journey: busy days, unexpected lessons and small moments that remind us why we started.
Every stage has encouraged us to keep learning and to take care with the details.
Listening to the women in our community
Over time, people have shared personal experiences and stories with us. Those conversations have shaped the way we communicate: with empathy, curiosity and respect for the fact that every person's needs are different.
We value customer feedback, but individual testimonials cannot establish that Wild Yam Cream treats PCOS, menopausal symptoms, sciatica or other medical conditions. We want our product information to be as sincere as the story behind it.
What is in the jar today?
The current Wild Yam Cream combines infused Wild Yam Root and Chaste Tree Berries with shea butter, cocoa butter, coconut-derived oils and beeswax. It is a rich, anhydrous (water-free) topical cream designed for comforting body care.
